Maybe we're nuts

I haven't had much to post lately, we've mostly been working on getting our house and yard put together. But I have to say, I'm pretty excited about our latest project. It may be awesome, or it could be a sign that I spend too much time on Pinterest. My family says we might need a flipping intervention, not flipping the way Utahans say it, but the buy old crap and fix it up kind of flipping.

So yeah, we're going to fix up this 1982 camper and I can't wait!

House For Sale!

It's been a crazy few months with working on the flip, doing some work on our house, moving, and then throwing the holidays on top of it all. But the house on Grenwood is finally for sale! What an incredible difference!

That wall ended up coming down to give us an open concept space, extra storage, and a great kitchen workspace.

I'm also very happy to report, that the bathroom is now usable and more importantly CLEAN!

And the scary basement has become a great living space with a laundry area and two more bedrooms.

Lucky for us, we have a great little helper. We're now officially listed and looking for our next fixer upper!

In the Basement

So, Brandon and I have been renting out our home in Ogden and we finally got it back. Hooray! Well, kind of. The cute little thing was fairly trashed so I've been a bit distracted over there. I have been taking photos of the flip, so I'll try to catch up with what I've missed (everything).

So, scary basements... You've never been in one you say? Well, I have two in my life at the moment. I must admit, the flip basement is starting to look like the basement of a well functioning home. It's pretty exciting to see the framing and sheetrock go up.

To the left there used to be two storage rooms, the middle wall came out and the window has been cut larger to create a bedroom. The first time I opened one of the door I was expecting a dead body. I have a fairly vivid imagination. To the right of the bedroom will be a closet for the washer and dryer.

A utility room to hide the ugly necessities.

This is kind of a long thin room, but it gets nice light and would make a great playroom, family room, or office. Maybe I have Halloween on the brain, but it used to look like the from that the little girl from the ring lived in. Only in a basement and not a barn.

The last time I stopped by the sheet rockers were busy as can be so I snapped these last few pictures quickly to get out of the way.

I'll be busy working on my house so who knows what you'll see next. Maybe you'll see our cute little house on Brinker.

A Quick Tour

Well, I'm a rotten blogger. I could bombard you all with multiple posts, but is that tacky in the world of blogging? Anyway, here is a quick "before" tour of the house on Grenwood. I've got lots of picture of progress being made, but here's a look at what we started with.

Man vs Tree

So, I mentioned my hubby and the chainsaw. Even though I was terrified when I heard about his technique, I have to admit, I'm pretty impressed with his end result.

One of our other problems with this house was a piece of retaining wall that had started to push into the driveway. We hired professionals for this job.

Brandon has also been busy resurfacing the front walk. The man amazes me everyday I tell you. I had no idea how many sweet skills he had when I married him.

Also, invade you couldn't tell, I am neither a professional photographer or blogger. I hope you enjoy seeing our progress. I sure do!

Grenwood

We recently purchased our first flip. It's so exciting to be moving on in this new endeavor, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I was nervous! Brandon and I fell in love with this house when we first walked through it (the smell not so much), it has so much charm and potential. We've got big plans for this cute exterior. Brandon has already been busy with the chainsaw, on a ladder, with one hand. Hopefully I'll end up with a cute husband in the end along with a great house! No more shenanigans Mr. Hansen!
